    Film maker Sangeeth Sivan, who has to his credit, of making Bollywood films like Kya Kool Hai Hum, Zor and others and also Malayalam films, took his last breath today (May 8). As per a report in The Mint, it has been said that the 61-year-old filmmaker was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai.

    Always known to be someone who is extremely passionate about not just films, but also film making, Sangeeth Sivan would always be seen in high energy when the conversation was about films.

    His passion towards film making can be deciphered from the fact that he had kept the bio on his Instagram account as, ‘Sangeeth Sivan- Film Director & Photographer. Vyuham, Nirnayam, Yodha, Gandharvam, Kya Kool Hai Hum, Zor, EK, ASMM, YPD2, BHRAM, BLIND GAME’.

    The last post on his Instagram account was posted around a week back. The post had him along with Tusshar Kapoor and Saurabh Anand. Sangeeth had captioned the post as, ‘Lost in progress @tusshark89 @anands1810 #loadingahorrorcomedy #bollywood #films #moreupdatessoon #kapkapiii’. The ace filmmaker was working on a horror comedy titled Kapkapii, which starred Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor in the leading roles. 

    His other posts on Instagram showcased the seamless talent of photography that he was blessed with. Almost every single photograph felt like coming alive in front of the human eyes. Not just that, every photograph seems to have an intriguing story in itself!

    Sangeeth Sivan has a brother Santosh Sivan, who is also an acclaimed cinematographer and filmmaker. Besides him, Sangeeth Sivan also has one more brother Sanjeev Sivan who is also a film personality. In his carrer spannng many years in showbiz, Sangeeth had directed many films like Zor, Kya Kool Hain Hum, and also the most loved Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, amongst the other films. 

    Looking back, Sangeeth Sivan made his directorial debut in showbiz with the Malayalam film Vyooham, which starred Raghuvaran, Sukumaran, Captain Raju, Babu Antony, Urvashi and others. But it was the film Yodha (starring Mohanlal) that put him into the limelight.

    Actor Tussshar Kapoor, who had worked with him in the film Kya Kool Hain Hum, took to Twitter and posted his heartfelt tributes by writing, 'Don’t have words to describe what I’m feeling right now…. A mentor of sorts, someone who introduced me to comedy with #KyakoolHainHum is no more! Sangeeth ji, I had the honour of working with you again recently but it’ll take me a long time to get over this sad news! RIP sir you will be missed! #SangeethSivan #gem'

    On the other hand, actor-priducer Riteish Deshmukh also paid his tributes to the Sangeeth Sivan by posting, "Deeply saddened and shocked to know that Sangeeth Sivan Sir is no more. As a newcomer all you want is someone to believe in you and take a chance.. can’t thank him enough for Kya Kool Hai Hum & Apna Sapna Money Money. Soft spoken, gentle and a wonderful human being. Am heart broken today, my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, his wife, kids, brothers. I will miss you Da !!!!! And your infectious laughter!!! Rest in Glory…."
