Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has announced the beginning of production for his next movie, temporarily titled ARRPD6. The project will mark his reunion with actor-choreographer Prabhudeva after a gap of more than 25 years in Tamil cinema.

The composer shared photos of himself with Prabhudeva to announce the start of shooting. The composer-choreographer duo looks dapper in black suits. "Laugh, sing, and dance along," reads the caption.

ARRPD6 will mark the directorial debut of Manoj NS. Currently, there is limited information about the movie's storyline or Prabhudeva's character. However, Manoj had earlier suggested that this movie would deliver a massive dose of nostalgia to fans of Tamil cinema.

Manoj revealed that he was a huge fan of these two talents and recalled witnessing the explosive joy in the theatre during the song "Chiku Buku Raile" from "Gentleman." He aims to recreate a similar experience for theatre audiences with ARRPD6.

Rahman and Prabhudeva have collaborated on about six movies in Tamil. Their last film together was "Minsara Kanavu," which was released in 1997.

"He's such an inspiring, dynamite dancer. His dance moves inspired me during the composing of 'Romeo' and 'Love Birds.' When I first saw 'Chikku Bukku Rayile' (from 'Gentlemen'), I was scared that he might jump out of the screen. I felt that kind of presence," Rahman said in an interview.

Similarly, Prabhudeva revealed that choreographing dance sequences to Rahman's music is always the most challenging but fulfilling task.

In addition to Prabhudeva, the film also stars Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, Arjun Ashokhan, Satz, Nishma Chengappa, Sushmitha Nayak, Redun Kingsley, Mottai Rajendran, Singmpuli, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TSR Srinivasan, Ramar, Deepa Shankar, Dr. Santhos Jacob, Lollu Sabha Manohar, and Ramkumar Natarajan.
