Raayan - First single from Dhanush's directorial to drop on THIS date; check out the latest update

The most exciting update from Dhanush's Raayan is here! After much anticipation, the first single from Dhanush’s directorial film Raayan is all set to drop on May 9! Yes, you read that right. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to drop the exciting update about the first single from Dhanush-starrer gangster drama.  

Along with the new update, the makers also dropped an interesting poster, which features Dhanush seated on a pile of bricks with flames all around him. An image of rakshasa king Ravanan is also seen behind him. The new intense poster promises a wild ride of action and has definitely piqued the interest of the audience. The poster also reveals that the film will have a worldwide release in June 2024. The exact date of release is yet to be revealed, although certain reports state that the film might be released on June 7.

No love interest for Dhanush in Raayan?

Dhanush will not be having a love interest in the gangster drama, according to reports, and that actress Dushara Vijayan might be essaying the role of the Captain Miller star’s sister. This speculation was confirmed when the makers earlier dropped a poster of a group photo featuring Dhanush alongside Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan. However, an official confirmation from the team is awaited on the same.

Dhanush’s directorial film Raayan

Previously known as D50, Raayan marks the second directorial film of actor Dhanush and the 50th film in his acting career. The gangster drama features an ensemble star cast including Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Prakash Raj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan and Aparna Balamurali in key roles. The movie is set against the backdrop of North Madras, with Dhanush rumoured to be playing the character of a cook who was formerly a gangster. The movie is centred around Dhanush’s character named Raayan, with Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan playing the roles of his brothers.
