    Vijay Raghavendra’s Next Titled ‘Eradu Kanasu’

    ‘Eradu Kanasu’, the evergreen film of Sandalwood, was re-released on 6 February 2015 across Karnataka state. Now, a new Kannada film, by debutant director Madan and his father Ashok, has been given the same title. The 1974 ‘Eradu Kanasu’ was directed by the Dorai-Bhagwan duo and ran for 36 successful weeks.

    S.K. Bhagwan, of Dorai-Bhagwan duo, was present to sound clap board for the muhurut shot. The director recalled, 41 years ago, a massive set was erected at Kanteerava Studio, where the latest ‘Eradu Kanasu’ went on floors. Vijay Raghavendra will be seen in the lead role in the movie.

    Reportedly, the flick will have two female leads, Karunya Rao and Prajju Poovaiah, like the yesteryears film. According to reports, five lyricists are penning down the lyrics. Vijay Raghavendra, whose uncle Rajkumar, was the lead actor in the 1974 ‘Eradu Kanasu’, has raised expectations of his fans through the trailer of yet to be released ‘Vamshodharaka’. It will be interesting to see whether the Kalla Malla Sulla actor is able to match the success of his uncle.
