Vijay sings melodious folk number for his upcoming film Jilla

Fast numbers and kuthu songs have been actor Vijay’s forte so far, who has been giving his voice in almost all his films in the present days, for instance Google Google in Thuppakki and Vaangana in Thalaivaa. Now he has recorded a folk melody for the first time which will feature in his upcoming film Jilla.

The music of the film has been composed by D. Imman and Vijay has sung a duet with Shreya Ghoshal. The famous music director Imman said, "I'd recorded this track and given it to Vijay more than a month ago. He listened to it several times, because he wanted to practise the tune, which will be his first pure melody in Tamil cinema. After recording Shreya's lines for it, we got Ilayathalapathy to come in on Sunday and recorded his voice in a session that lasted many hours. He was very reticent about singing a melody number, but we're very happy with the way it's come out. It has a lot of folk elements too as Jilla is set against the Madurai backdrop."
