After the 15-member squad and reserve players were announced, sportswear brand Adidas released the new jersey of Team India for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday (May 6). The brand took to its official Instagram account to share a video featuring captain Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav at the picturesque Dharamsala stadium.

"One jersey. One Nation. Presenting the new Team India T20 jersey," the caption read. The new gear features tri-colour stripes around the v-shaped neckline, with the rest of the body being a blend of blue on the front and back, and saffron hues accentuating the sleeves. However, this kit has not sat well with many, garnering mixed reactions from fans, with some stating that the 2016 jersey continues to be the best so far.

For Indian fans looking to buy the jersey to support Team India, it can be bought from stores and online from May 7, Adidas said.

Regarding the Men in Blue squad released on April 30 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it will see the comeback of Rishabh Pant to the Indian squad after overcoming a horrific accident. However, although there are no major surprises, Rinku Singh has been placed in the reserves alongside Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed.

Among other players, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravi Bishnoi, and Sandeep Sharma are absent from the team.

India is placed in Group A, which also includes arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-host USA. Rohit Sharma and Co. will first play against Ireland on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. They will next face Pakistan on June 9 in what is one of the most anticipated matches of the T20 World Cup.
