Romeo OTT release date: Stream Vijay Antony's romantic drama very soon!

Vijay Antony and Mrinalini’s latest romantic film, Romeo, which hit the big screens in April, is all set to make its OTT premiere soon. The makers of the film announced that the Tamil romantic drama will be available for streaming on Aha starting May 10. Directed by Vinayak Vaithianathan, the film was produced by Vijay Antony under his home banner, Vijay Antony Film Corporation. 

What is Romeo all about?

Vijay Antony and Mrinalini play a newlywed couple. The husband is on a mission to make his wife fall in love with him. The film revolves around Arivu, a soft-spoken man who gets married to a disinterested Leela, who is an aspiring actor. What happens between the couple after the wedding is the rest of the story.

Despite the initial hype, the film failed to lure audiences to theatres. The film was heavily criticised for its bland screenplay and monotonous performances. With its OTT debut, the film is expected to reach a wider audience and the makers hope that it will fare better on OTT than it did in theatres. 

Cast and crew of Romeo

The film is written and directed by debutant Vinayak Vaithianathan. Apart from Vijay Antony and Mirnalini, the film also stars Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Ilavarasu, Thalaivasal Vijay, Sudha and Sreeja Ravi, among others.

On the technical front, the camera work was handled by Farook J Basha, with Barath Dhanasekar scoring the music. Vijay was not only in charge of financing, but he was also in charge of editing the movie. He has been the editor for a few of his previous outings like Annadurai, Thimiru Pudichavan, Kodiyil Oruvan and Pichaikkaran 2, which also marked his directorial debut.

Vijay Antony’s next project

Vijay Antony has numerous films in his kitty. He will be seen in Hitler, Khakhee and Valli Mayil next.
