    Mani Ratnam to revisit six-year old project Lajjo?


    Lajjo might be given another chance and the B-town is going abuzz with such a golden prospect. It has been heard that the veteran filmmaker was in Mumbai recently to hold negotiations regarding his six-year-old Hindi project. He was set to make the film with actor Aamir Khan but it could not materialize due to some serious issues. It’s also being heard that Bollywood script-writer Rensil D'Silva will join Ratnam for the project.

    A source revealed, "When it was written, Lajjo was a musical love story which is set in pre-Independence India. Mani had started work on the film a few years ago. He had, at that point, teamed up with Anurag Kashyap to shape up the script. The film is based on the works of the famed Urdu writer Ismat Chughtai. But it was stalled due to various reasons, including the issue with story rights. But now, it looks like things may have fallen into place. Mani recently flew down to Mumbai to discuss this project." Mani Ratnam has been unavailable for confirmation yet. Now let’s wait and watch what comes out finally, the original script or an entire change in the Lajjo storyline.
