Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos are reportedly discussing collaborating on a fourth film

    After their successful collaborations on 'The Favourite, Poor Things, and the forthcoming Kinds of Kindness, Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos are considering teaming up once again.

    Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos continue their successful streak and are not slowing down. Stone, who stars in and produces Poor Things, is reportedly in discussions to collaborate once again with the film's director for Save the Green Planet! This project is Lanthimos' remake of the 2003 South Korean comedy.

    Variety reports that the Greek filmmaker plans to commence filming this summer in the U.K. and New York. According to the outlet's report, Stone is expected to take on a supporting role in the film.

    Joining Forces for Save the Green Planet!

    According to Variety, the film's narrative centers on a disillusioned young man who captures and tortures a businessman, convinced of his involvement in an alien invasion. A tense battle of intellect unfolds among the captor, his loyal girlfriend, the businessman, and a private detective.

    Poor Things marked the second collaboration between Stone and Lanthimos, who previously teamed up for 2018's The Favourite. Their next project, Save the Green Planet!, will be their fourth feature-length film together, following the upcoming Kinds of Kindness, an anthology film featuring Jesse Plemons, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, and others.

    From Award-Winning Original to English-Language Remake

    The 2003 original Save the Green Planet!, featuring Shin Ha-kyun, garnered numerous awards at international film festivals. In 2020, CJ ENM, renowned for producing Parasite partnered with filmmakers Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen to develop an English-language remake, according to Deadline.

    Variety reported on Monday that Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe of Element Pictures will produce the film in collaboration with both CJ ENM and Aster’s production company, Square Peg. Yorgos Lanthimos is set to direct the movie.

    At the forthcoming 96th Academy Awards, Poor Things has received nominations in 11 categories, including Best Picture. Emma Stone is nominated for Best Actress, while Yorgos Lanthimos is nominated for Best Director. During her acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards in January, Stone expressed gratitude to her frequent collaborator.
